About the Project

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has retained AECOM Canada Ltd. (AECOM) to update the Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study for Highway 6 South from Highway 403 to Upper James Street in the City of Hamilton ("the Project"). MTO completed the Environmental Assessment Report and Preliminary Design Report in 1987 (W.P. 36-84-00) for Highway 6 South from Hamilton to Caledonia. The proposed works under this update will include the widening of Highway 6 South within the Project limits from two to four lanes, and interchange and intersection improvements. The Project's Study Area is shown in the key map.
